Odds and Ends: Special Holiday Update

Well we've had about all the turkey and Christmas cheer we can stand. How about a few updates?

First, we mentioned in an earlier, though now archived, article how the Aryan Guard may have stolen their Activist Values from Volksfront International's Ideals and Values page which considering the hostility between the two groups is more than a bit ironic(see here and here). Well Bill Noble, who we have to mention once again has not yet been returned to prison for flagrant violations of the terms of his release, has an explanation:

Noble is walking a pretty thin line here. On the one hand while the Aryan Guard (or what is left of it) is engaged in a war of words with Volksfront, Noble himself is friendly with a number of people in or associated with Volksfront in one way or another (Todd Conroy, Ciaran Donnelly, Glenn Bahr). Trying to keep the peace between two angry pitbulls that hate each other. In fact, we wonder what the Aryan Guard members think of Noble's frendliness with members and/or associates of Volksfront, the "A" brothers notwithstanding (though one source close to both D.A. and E.A. say that neither are members or are linked to Volksfront). Add to this he had to make this post on the Combat18 message boards, a group violently opposed to Volksfront, and justify plagiarism. Finally, he casually throws RN, who was the first webmaster of the Aryan Guard website before his own legal issues under the bus. How quick these people are to pass the blame on to someone else.

Something To Consider

One of the constant themes that Paul Fromm perpetuates is that the CHRT, Richard Warman and others target only those who are poor. Melissa Guille is a poor, working single mother. Marc Lemire is a poor family man. Jessica Beaumont is a poor young woman working in retail. Our personal favourite is Fromm's complaint about Tomasz Winnicki who is not only poor, but an immigrant who's command of the English language might not be proficient enough to understand that the rhetoric he uses might be offensive (given that Mr. Winnicki has been in Canada since the late 80s, we find this justification by Mr. Fromm for Winnicki's vile and hateful posts on VNN to be especially laughable and, considering Mr. Fromm's complaints about non-European immigrants who's command of English is not yet mastered, especially hypocritical). In Paul Fromm's mind, it is patently unfair for human rights activists or the CHRT to target such vulnerable and defenceless individuals.

Which sort of creates a problem for those, like Mr. Fromm, who use this particular argument.

Served Its Purpose

We've archived our December 22 article because we received the information we were hoping to elicit with it. Its purpose served, it will be kept under wraps. For the time being.

More Concerns About the WBTA

The WBTA continues to roll out their list of members on their executive council. And there continue to be concerns about members of the executive when it comes to their views on minority rights as mentioned here and here.

The following comes from an August 8, 2007 posting on the blog of John Nesdoly, leader of the Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Chair on the WBTA executive council:

The Magic is Over

Or at least it appears so for the time being.

Alicia Reckzin (the former ARA member known for her run-in with George Burdi which led to his assault conviction) and Kevin Goudreau, the neo-Nazi with the IQ of a fruit fly, have appeared to have broken up.

Yet another wonderful holiday surprise. Karma is a bitch, ain't it Alicia?

Message From the Western Businesses & Taxpayers Association Regarding Ernie Slump

Yesterday we updated our article relating to a WBTA member's relationship regarding Doug Christie. In that update we included our additional concerns about Ernie Slump, also a leader in the group. Today we received the following message:

Doug Christie and Western Independence

So it would look like our favorite go-to lawyer for Canadian neo-Nazis, real Nazis and Holocaust deniers is trying to take advantage of the current 'consitutional crisis' even though things have calmed down and it appears less likely that the government will fall when it reconvenes in January. Douglas Christie writes:

Fromm and the collection plate

The following is Fromm's response to losing his appeal:

Free Speech Setback: Appeals Court Upholds Warman Libel Decision Against Fromm & CAFE

TORONTO. Tuesday, December 9 was a grim day for free speech and dissent in Canada, especially when it comes to criticizing those actively involved in trying to limit political discussion by dissidents. A three man panel of the Ontario Court of Appeal upheld the 2007 decision by Madam Justice Monique Metivier finding Paul Fromm and the Canadian Association for Free Expression guilty of defamation for 9 Internet postings in 2003 calling then Canadian Human Rights Commission employee Richard Warman a "censor."

Don't @#$% With Richard Warman: Part II

As we mentioned earlier this week, Fromm's appeal of a November 2007 ruling that he had libeled Richard Warman was thrown out of court with an additional costs of $10,000 on top of the $30,000 in court costs. The reasoning for the decision appears to be as follows:

- The material in question was clearly capable of being defamatory
- The trial judge found that they were in fact defamatory
- There is no basis for us [the appeals court] to interfere with trial judge's findings
- In the material it is impossible to distinguish between fact vs. opinion (one of the pre-conditions for the defence in libel cases of 'fair comment' that they were trying to advance)
- Justice Metivier's finding of malice on the part of Fromm/CAFE was soundly based in the evidence and there is no basis to interfere with it
- Thus the appeal must fail

Trouble in Paradise: Part Two

So Paul Fromm decided to appeal the decision that found that he had libeled Richard Warman and which awarded Mr. Warman $30,000.

Not only did the Ontario Court of Appeal reject Fromm's appeal, and not only did they dismiss the appeal without having to hear from Warman's lawyer, but the court tacked on $10,000 in costs against him in addition to the $30,000 in damages from the trial level.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Trouble in Paradise: Part One

Though completely unconfirmed at this point, it would appear that the magic is over. The lights have gone out and the ships have passed in the night.

Kyle McKee, founder of the Aryan Guard, is reported to now be single.

Now if those two crazy kids couldn't make it work, what hope is there for the rest of us?

And to forestall any criticism, yes this "article" is childish, immature and beneath our dignity. And we don't care.

The Campaign So Far

Based on some responses that we've received from people in the know, we believe that our efforts to have Bill Noble held accountable for violating the terms of his release are meeting with success. However, we encourage our readers to keep up the campaign.

We would also like to address one comment made recently concerning this campaign. No, this is not a vendetta. This is making certain that all of us, every single person, is treated equally before the law and to make certain that no one is above the law or could act in contempt of the law.
